It Isn't Always About the Fancy Blogs!

  • This community has allowed me to grow in so many ways. The journey of motherhood has become a more joyful experience since I've met my new cyber friends. Owning an online community that services the needs of parent bloggers allows me to venture not only into my own life as a mother, but into the life of others through many heartfelt posts.

The parent blogging world consists of many different types of personalities and genres. A common genre involves product reviewers, who may either be paid or not, to talk about their feelings about certain products.

I've recently come across a blog called "Lucky Emerald's Reviews With a Pinch of Life." If you're a blogger or somewhat familiar with the blogging industry, you would notice that this blog isn't the fanciest looking out there. However, blogs are about the content, aren't they?

I stopped a while to check out this blog's "Pinch of Life" and just love the author's sincerity in her posts. Yes, reviews typically must be done with sincerity anyway, but this reviewer really puts her heartfelt feelings into her reviews. Some of her posts may be short and sweet, but she does what she can to be as creative as possible with each one. If I needed someone to review my products, she would definitely be one of the top on my list!

momfever I visited the blog, and you're right: the layout is very basic and seems to say: I just started blogging and have a generic layout. And even though you are right, about blogs being about Content, a generic layout is something that turns many people off.

Pamela Rote I like her blog too. To me simple is good--so people can "go on and on and on " and that's a turn off too.

Anne Mercado A study found that a good web-design influences whether people trust a site - esp at first glance/impression. http://blog.crazyegg.com/2011/12/19/does-web-design-matter/
