Pool Fun

  • With this major heat wave pool fun is something we enjoy a lot! It’s so nice to sit in a pool with the hot sun beating on you.. *sigh*

That being said, my kids had never been to a public pool before.  If you have followed my blog awhile, you might remember we have a pool or rather a pool of muck;)  So no pool fun at home for us sadly.

It got me thinking about our local water park. We have lived here 6 whole years and never set foot in it! Crazy huh?  I’m like that.

    You know?

Grow up for 6 years in Southern California, and never surfed.

Spend 12 years in the Colorado Rockies and never sky.

    Yes, it’s a trend with me. ;)

My husband and I decided for our little stay-cation we would venture to the water park.

Upon arrival my oldest was not thrilled. His eyes caught a glimpse of the slide at the regular park, then glanced over at the water park slide, people, and pool. His words? “No pool, lets go this way” as he grabs my hand and begins to pull with all his might towards the regular park.

Poor boy. Learning new things can be scary, I know that fully. I was so like him when I was young.

I let him know if he didn’t want to go once we got IN the park we would leave, but we had to just try first.

He was calm, although holding on to me like his life depended on it. Arms around my neck and legs around my waist. I have to admit, I enjoy the closeness. While he may be afraid, it sure is nice to cuddle with him!

We made it in, and plopped ourselves down on a chair. He watched as my youngest, Noah, went with Daddy to get in the water.

I could see the longing in my sons eyes. And eventually? He made it INTO the big pool!  He didn’t play hard, and was still very cautious, but it was an accomplishment both my husband and I were so happy for. He would hold on to one of us, as we walked out to the deeper end.

I did not bring a camera or my phone into the park, so I did not get to capture the water park moments on camera.

After the pool fun at the water park, a few days later my parents got a nice small pool.

That’s when I got some of these pictures.  Sadly, I did not get any of Jeremiah in the pool, just out of it longing to go in. And he did go in and had a blast. More so then at the water park. Yay for Nana and Grandpa getting a pool!!
