Bar Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Do you ever think, “gee chocolate chip cookies (or any cookie for that matter) sound SO yummy!?” Then the next thought: “it’s going to take forever to make them all”

Here’s something that I decided to do with the last batch. It’s something my mom has done many times. And it sure saves LOTS of time.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 2 egs
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3 cups all purpose flour
    • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

(I am going to copy the Kitchen Aid Recipe, but I am certain you can just use a regular beater instead, so do what it says here with a normal beater if you do not own a kitchen-aid)

    Directions:

Place sugars, butter, eggs and vanilla in mixer bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater to the mixer. Turn to speed 2 and mix about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Turn to speed 4 and beat about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl.

Turn to stir speed (like 1). Gradually add baking soda, salt and flour to sugar mixture and mix about 2 minutes.  Turn to speed 2 and mix about 30 seconds. Stop and scrape bowl. Add chocolate chips. Turn to stir speed and mix about 15 seconds.

Place all the mix into a 9×13 greased pan. Smooth it out. Cook for 20 to 25 min. I like mine soft, so I cooked them for 20 min. They are PERFECT! To me anyways. ;)

If you don’t want bars, you can do this:

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 min. Makes about 54 cookies
