Does anyone else feel twitter is the best traffic bringer? :)

I try to talk on there sometimes, but it's hard, and yet I get the most traffic from it. It seems easiest, as you don't have to interact AS much as you would say on G+ and Facebook to get a bunch of hits.

Twitter is definitely the best traffic bringer! I have loyal people who repost my blog every day! They are faithful and they always send others my way!

I don't get as much traffic from twitter as I do Facebook. That seems to be my big driver lately, however I'm also much more engaged in Facebook than any other site. I do chat with fellow bloggers in Twitter but it's more of a "hi, how have you been?" thing and then we rush off to our busy day.

I get more traffic from Facebook too, at least at this point. I am still pretty new to Twitter so perhaps that will grow more with time and as I learn the rope more :-)

For me the best social network has been Facebook and voiceBoks. Maybe because my blog is an essay site, there is something about the connection I can make here or on Facebook that I can't seem to do in 140 characters on Twitter. I think the best thing to do is find the one that works best for you and then concentrate on that one. It can be too hard to do to many right. Just my opinion!

I agree, Kathy. Find what works for you. :) It's true. Because for some, it's google plus, other's in Pinterest, while still others in Facebook or Twitter. I think if we try to do them all we will miss out on a much better return. You know? Focusing on one or a few, lets us connect with our readers more, then if we stretch ourselves to thin. :)

I have had zero success with Google + so I only use it for the purpose of posting status updates and new blog posts to show that I'm active but I rarely go in there for socializing. People are very non-responsive there. I think if Facebook ever craters, Google + will take off much more, but for now I just don't think there's a huge demand for it. Sarah, I'd be happy to chat with you in Twitter anytime! :) We could start our own #goodmorning faith tweets. lol! I know there's a group of faith bloggers that do that. I can't remember what they call it... something like good morning girls with the hashtag, and then they share their morning bible study thoughts, verses, etc... Other people join in and they grow their blog exposure and following that way. ** Actually, I'd be willing to have these morning tweets with anyone interested in participating. :)

I think Pinterest really works for food and craft bloggers, if you have pictures then Pinterest is ideal. I have not found it really helpful as a writing blog, but then again, I have not put much time into it. I do know the foodies, garden and craft people get excellent millage out of it. Pinterest scares me a bit because of the copywright issues, I would not put anything on it unless I had my photo clearly marked with my name and site.

I never heard of the copywrite issues. hmmm, that's not good!

I haven't had much luck with Pinterest. But I find such great info on there. Like my post today. :) I mostly use it to find neat ideas. :)

LOL, it's copyright. But a person who writes copy for a script is a copy writer.

Twitter isn't as high on my list. LinkedIn has proved very effective for me...my last 2 clients found me there. Pinterest gives me a lot of views, but not any clients yet. I'd rank them in order as follows:Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter.

facebook and pinterest have been the most help for me but now that I am getting more twitter followers, I am doing better on there as well. I am a craft, food, and mommy blogger so that's why I think pinterest helps me so much. My google+ has grown and gotten better but it's still slow. I've had hardly any success with LinkedIn but I think that's because I haven't made a big enough effort with it.

Kathryn I could completely see where you would do well with Pinterest, you have such beautiful photos and craft ideas. In fact personally, I would use twitter to bring people to your Pinterest pages as well as your blog. You have such gorgeous things!!!

Tracy, I meant to reply to you too!! My husband has found Linkedin really helpful for networking and his job. I have not found it that helpful, but I have not really worked it at all!! I find you really do have to work the network you find is getting you the most mileage.

Twitter is my queen! It has made such a tremendous difference for voiceBoks and if you notice, a lot of new members come from Twitter as well. However, you have to reach a lot of followers in order for you to get to the point of comfort.

voiceBoks (@vB_mama) currently has 19,162 followers. Its giveaways (@vbgiveaways) account has 7,051 and voiceBoks Amplified (@vbamplified), which is still to come has 3,415 followers. So yes, it's because we do have a lot is the reason it is working for us. So I believe whatever you're comfortable with and you have lots of followers for it is what would make it happen for you.

I agree that Pinterest is awesome. I haven't spent a whole lot of time on it, but I know people who have never used Twitter that are already hooked on Pinterest. It can work just as well for regular blogs as long as you attach photos that really make you go , "wow!"

@Lexie, totally true! I think the reason Twitter is starting to work for me is because I have more followers now, thanks to you. ;)

Facebook has a lot too, but unless I put comments and interact more I seem to get nothing. They did something to facebook that makes my posts only reach about 70% on average. Pretty sad.

But twitter, the minute I tweet I get up to 14 hits right away and then some more later. Not tons, but it is better then 1 hit. haha ;)

We all seem to have our social media that works for us in some way. It's kind of interesting, that really, it's only ONE that seems to be our star player in media. And it's the one we work the hardest at, at least that's what I am noticing. :)

I think with that, for anyone outside of this forum reading, if you work on just one of your social media sites, you will get results. It requires a bit of work, but the results will be amazing in time.

I should change that "70%" to 70 people on average. That's what I meant to say. So out of 2300 only 70 people see my post on facebook. That's just crazy! Wanted to clear that up. ;) 70% would be much better, but alas it's not.

Up until recently, I only used facebook, but then I headed into the twitterverse and I think that will be a far more effective tool. I'm enjoying learning. I can only master one social network at a time. Next up is Linked In for me :)

linked in has led to more consistent independent traffic than any other source. For all others: twitter, fb, g+ and even vB, I seem only to get traffic after self-promoting.

I get most of my traffic from self promotion. One thing I am learning recently. Build an email list. Now when I join giveaways, I put my email subscribe instead of twitter and all those other social media options. I do still do twitter and facebook, but promoting through an email list is a very nice target. Just something to think about.

How does this work? I've wondered about how email subscriptions work with blogger.

I use Feedburner's email. I have it on my blog, for easy sign ups. It should work with blogger as well. :) As it's google.

To expand on this, I have my email go out once daily between 7am to 9am. So no matter how many posts I write, the subscirber will get an email only in the morning. So if I wrote a few posts that day, the morning email will show a few posts in it. :)

I'm entering this conversation a little late but here is my two cents worth.

I have a Twitter and Facebook page and I am on LinkedIn as well. I find LinkedIn is best for getting new business contacts. Twitter is best for gaining new readers. And Facebook is best for people who post "I'm following you, please return the favor and do so with your personal account."

My blog also has a Facebook and Twitter page and is on Pinterest and Google+. Very litte has come from those accounts.

My favorite social media tool is twitter due to the conversations that you can hold with your followers or potential followers. I am getting addicted to Pinterest. I share more on Facebook than G+, but I can't get anyone to comment or share my posts which is frustrating to me.

I have the same problem and have heard others say the same, so I think it's pretty common. I'm not really sure what the solution is. If you find out a trick, I'd love to know.

I just try to share on Google + and hope that my stuff gets re-shared or a +. I have even tried using hashtags on my google + posts.
