|     || 1) When did you start blogging?|
I started blogging over five years ago right before I was pregnant with my son. It was mostly just a personal blog for family and friends to keep up with us during the pregnancy and during my son’s first few years. I started my food blog almost two years ago.
2) Why did you choose food to write about?
My blog started as a place for me to organize my recipes. I had a manila folder PACKED with pages pulled from magazines, copied from cookbooks, and printed from the internet. As I made each recipe, I’d blog about it and make notes to myself about what worked and what didn’t.
3) Why are you passionate about food?
Everyone needs to eat, right? Why not enjoy it?
4) What are your favorite recipes?
I like recipes that I can either prep in advance, or make quickly. I have a very short window of time at night to make dinner, eat, play, and put my son to bed so easy and fast is a priority for me. Some go-to recipes are Salsa Crockpot Chicken, Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, and Pizza.
5) What do you love about cooking?
I love seeing ingredients go from being individual entities to a beautiful, finished dish that tastes great. The science of food and cooking is fascinating to me as well.
6) Who do you love to cook for most?
Honestly? I love to cook for myself the most. My son is at the stage where he’s pretty picky about what he eats so it’s more fun for me to try new recipes on myself without him turning his nose up immediately.
7) Do you have any advice for someone who wants to learn how to cook?
Just jump in and do it! Start small…make a spaghetti sauce from scratch. It’s so easy and you’ll wonder why you’ve never done it before.
