      1) When did you start blogging?

I started blogging January 1, 2012.

2) Why did you choose food to write about?

I chose to write about food because my Little Chefs were always wanting to help me out in the kitchen. I realized toward the end of 2011 each time I turned on the Food Network they would come running into the room. They started quoting the chefs they saw on tv. They each started to like one chef in particular and requested watching that chef constantly. Yes I really mean it, more then cartoons or movies! I saw an opportunity to merge their interests; making recipes from their favorite chefs which we have expanded to cookbooks, magazines and online.

3) Why are you passionate about food?

I learned a long time ago that food is a way to show concern for others. Somehow by bringing someone a warm loaf of bread or a plate of cookies a lot of times is that kind act a person needs at any moment. A lot of times we cannot do that much to help out another person, but listening over a delicious smell is always welcome. Food is also how we come together as a family and as an extended family.

4) What are your favorite recipes?

Little Chef A's favorite is Costini Alla Romana by Giada De Laurenttis. Little Chef C's favorite is Seared Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa by Robert Irvine. Little Chef D's favorite is anything sweet!

5) What do you love about cooking?

Through this journey we are taking, teaching my Little Chefs to cook, I absolutely love the time we are spending together. The mistakes we make, the successes we have are turning into wonderful memories. We are always saying, "Remember the time when the turkey water splashed all over me and I cried because I didn't want it." Remember the time when the potatoes did not work." We are sharing those fun moments and I am so excited to record those funny conversations on our blog. Time together is everything.

6) Who do you love to cook for most?

We all love to cook for each other. The joy I see in their faces as we sit at the table and they share what they made and how they made it, tasting and watching the reaction on each face is amazing. They are so proud of themselves. They are wanting to share their creations with others as well. They love taking food to a dinner party, or sharing a treat they made the night before at a play date.

7) Do you have any advice for someone who wants to learn how to cook?

If you want to learn to cook jump in with two feet! It does take time to understand the recipes and execute, but you will get faster. (Believe me, some of our recipes take 2 hours to make when they should only take 30 min!) If you like a recipe make it again! Each time you make it your skills improve as well as your confidence. If you fail at a recipe see if you can figure out why and then try it again. It took me years to conquer yeast. After many many failed attempts with rolls and breads thrown in the garbage I am not afraid any more! Conquering a mistake is a huge confidence builder!
