|       | 1) When did you start blogging? I started in 2009 when I decided to take my cooking and gardening more seriously. 2) Why did you choose food to write about? I chose food in relation to gardening. When I had an over abundance of a certain veggie, I needed a variety of ways to fix it for my family. 3) Why are you passionate about food? Food is something I am passionate about because when it is done well, it is oh so good. It brings a family together every evening to discuss and debrief our days while preparing and eating. The other reason I am passionate about food is that there are so many non-food items out there. I am trying to give my kids an appreciation of real food that tastes really good so they don't take the convenience route when they are on their own. 4) What are your favorite recipes? We have quite a few favorites. Bang Bang Cauliflower from "That's so Michelle" and I really love my butternut squash recipes. I could eat those everyday, but my family wouldn't tolerate it. 5) What do you love about cooking? I love the creativity and that there is a start and a finish with immediate feedback. Few things I do these days seem to be that way (like laundry). 6) Who do you love to cook for most? Family and friends. If I could have guests over for dinner every night, I would. It wouldn't be fancy dinner party-style either. Straight up informal family-style. Friends gathering together, breaking bread, sharing stories and enjoying good food. Perfection. 7) Do you have any advice for someone who wants to learn how to cook? Just get started. Buy a basic cookbook, follow it and use a timer. Once you get comfortable, you can start freestyling and that is where the fun really begins. It is fun to look In the pantry, fridge and freezer and create a meal that tastes great from what you have on hand. When you see smiles on everyone's face or conversation stops because everyone is enjoying what you cooked, it is deeply gratifying. Please visit "Mental Chew |     |
